… and away we go!   Welcome to our new website.

You know we are globetrotters, so that’s a common saying around here (even if Jackie Gleason said it first).  But today, “away we go!” refers to the launch of the new ELD International website.

Blast off!  Happy to see you here--  take a look around.  I am Elizabeth Leigh Dance, President of ELD International.  We serve both the buy and the sell side of global legal services.  On this site you'll find the sell side mostly under the Law Firms heading, and the buy side mostly under the In-house Counsel heading.  We hope you will find what you are looking for here—including what our consultancy does and who we are.  If you don’t find what you need, please post a comment or a question.

There are some interesting and fun parts at the bottom, such as thought leadership.  The term is hopelessly presumptuous, but you know what we really mean:  bright ideas in our line of work.  We think we have a few, and we’ll let you be the judge of that.

Also at the bottom is a rotating quote, and what we hope will be regular world traveler tips on places we love (hotels, restos, cafés, planes, trains, airport lounges, museum exhibits, suitcases, jogging trails, open markets, you name it) from our frequent journeys.

Mostly this site is about what inspires us to work hard for our clients, day and night – the fascinating, constantly changing business world as it shapes legal services-- in international companies and law firms-- and the fascinating, constantly changing world of law and regulation as it shapes business.

Thanks to the excellent hard work and patience on the part of our virtual web support team, working from a few countries across at least one ocean.   More about you "cavaliere" in a future post.

During this week of December 17th the traffic will (almost unbearably) increase in cities across the West.   Many people will work little, rush around shopping, visit the cash machine a lot, eat richly and make lots of toasts at sparkly holiday parties.   Enjoy!

Here are a few wise comments of others which I hope will be as helpful to you as they are to me, looking back on this past year of ongoing uncertainty.  It is a year that has had everyone around the world that I know working very hard, and you should give yourselves a big pat on the back.
